About Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is devoted to building “simple, decent, and affordable” housing for low-income families all over the world. In fact, HFH is the largest non-profit home builder in the world. Homes are built with purely volunteer labor and sold at no profit. The affiliate’s family selection committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, their willingness to become partners in the program and their ability to repay the loan. Every affiliate follows a nondiscriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing the families who receive Habitat houses. Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built or repaired more than 800,000 houses with people in need of decent, affordable shelter. Today, more than 4 million people are now living in Habitat homes. Learn more
ACM Volunteer Day
Here are some photos of us volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in the East San Francisco town of Livermore (see below).
We worked on two homes in Livermore. One was recently renovated and just needed finishing paint and a new kitchen installed. The other was recently purchased and needed a complete demolition and re-framing. As you can see from the photos, we were up for the task!
